Over 700 victims of road accidents rescued

 (KPL) Last year, over 700 victims of road accidents were helped and rescued by the Vientiane Capital Rescue Unit.

The Foundation for Assisting Poor People of Lao PDR in cooperation with the Vientiane Rescue Unit held a meeting to review its annual implementation for 2010-2011period last Sunday Dec 18, at the Foundation for Assisting Poor People of Lao PDR’s headquarters in Vientiane Capital.

The meeting was chaired by President of the Foundation for Assisting Poor People of Lao PDR, Mrs. Sisaliao Thammatheva.

The meeting saw the presence of Consulting President to the Foundation Mrs. Phouthone Phoumsavanh, and relevant officials.

The meeting was told that between 2005 and 2009, the donation and contribution by the general public to the Foundation for Assisting Poor People of Lao PDR was over 9 billion kip. The donation and contribution by the general public in the last three years is valued at over 1 billion kip.

On this occasion, Mrs. Phouthone gave certificates of congratulations to the RMA Laos in recognition of its assistance extended to the Foundation.
