Meeting to mark the 50 th anniversary of Laos- Vietnam diplomatic ties held

 (KPL) A meeting to mark the 50th anniversary of Laos – Vietnam diplomatic ties, the 35th anniversary of the signing of the Laos –Vietnam Friendship and Cooperation Treaty was held on 12 January at the National Cultural hall in Vientiane Capital.

Attending at the function was Dr. Bounpone Bouthanavong, LPRP CC Politburo member and Secretariat of PCC, Dr. Khamphan Viphavanh, LPRP CC Politburo member and Minister of Education and Sports who is also Chairman of the Lao-Vietnamese Friendship Association, Mr. Nguyen Dac Vinh, First Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos and a number of senior officials from Laos and Vietnam.

Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Vilayvong Boudakham, Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Youth Union highlighted the meeting by saying that it was held to welcome the visit to Laos of Mr. Nguyen Dac Vinh and his delegation that brought a special solidarity, friendship relations and comprehensive cooperation to the Lao Youth, and to this significant meeting which was the first activity for the Year of Friendship and Solidarity between Vietnam and Laos in 2012.

He added that the meeting will be a main contribution to further strengthening the special friendship relation and all round cooperation between Laos and Vietnam, particularly between the two country’s Youth Union.
